Abstract
A case of malignant lymphoma of the gastrointestinal tract is presented. A 61 year-old male was adx fitted to this hospital with a 6 months history of epigastric pain and dyspepsia. The radiotherapy was performed in-the management of the enlarged, painless lymph nodes in the left side of the neck about 10¢¥years ago. Physical examination on admission revealed a mild puffy face, moderate abdominal distension, tenderness in the epigastrium and RUQ, palpable liver of 2 fingers breadth, but no other palpable mass and ascites. Lungs were relatively clear aiid heart sounds were normal. The vital signs were thin normal limits except for 185/90 mmHg of the blood pressure. The roentgenograms of the upper GI tract showed the evidence of .the irregular filling defects the antral portion of the stomach. and the partial involvement of the distal part of the gastric body with rigidity of the. posterior wall of the stomach. Irregularities and hypertrophies of the gastric mu e are noted. Passage was more rapid, without interruption. This patient was performed ¢¥the subtotal gastrectomy with the resection and end-to-end anastamosis of the small intestine. There are two ulcerative cicatrical lesions measuring 3 X 2 cm and 1 X 1 cm on the lesser curvature of the gastric body and the pyloric region of the subtotally resected stomach, measuring- 17 cm, 9 cm in length along the greater and the lesser curvature of the stomach. And three ulcerative lesions, 3.5 cm, 2cm and 1cm in diameter on the specimens of the small intestine, respectively. The mucosal la er is partly, almost entirely defected forming ulceration to the above mentioned submucosa .The submucosa and muscle coat are almost entirely replaced by highly malignant tumor cells mass showing freely individual tumor cells as malignant reticulumcells. The tumor cells were large, avoid and prominent nuclei with frequent mitosis.
